Disposing of hazardous substances from private households

The disposal of hazardous waste from private households is the responsibility of the public waste disposal authorities.

Hazardous substances include

  • Paint strippers,
  • Drain cleaners,
  • Paints,
  • Varnishes,
  • Adhesives,
  • Alkalis,
  • Acids,
  • Chemicals such as photographic chemicals,
  • Waste oil,
  • Pesticides and fertilisers,
  • Cleaning agents and detergents,
  • Rechargeable batteries, batteries,
  • Energy-saving light bulbs and much more,

that you no longer need or that have become unusable.

You obliged to dispose of them separately from household waste.

Responsible department

  • if you live in an urban district: the city administration
  • if you live in a rural district: the district administration
